Training/Education & Awareness

Training can be customized for your specific event or organization.

Training topics may include:

Human Trafficking - Victim Mindset: This foundational session provides a deep dive into the psychological and emotional dynamics that shape the mindset of human trafficking victims. Attendees will gain insight into the ways traffickers manipulate and exploit trauma, fear, and dependency to create invisible chains that keep victims trapped. By understanding the victim mindset, participants will learn to recognize the signs of trafficking, offer more empathetic support, and play a vital role in empowering survivors to break free from cycles of exploitation.

Intersectionality of Substance Use and Exploitation: This presentation highlights the often-overlooked connection between substance use and human trafficking. We will explore how traffickers use addiction as both a tool for control and a weapon against those battling substance dependency, further trapping them in exploitative situations. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how these issues intersect, practical strategies for supporting vulnerable individuals, and the importance of integrating trauma-informed care into recovery and anti-trafficking efforts.

Poverty & Homelessness - The Impact of Vulnerabilities: This talk addresses the systemic vulnerabilities created by poverty and homelessness, and how these factors make individuals prime targets for traffickers. Through a detailed analysis of economic inequality, lack of access to education, and inadequate social safety nets, we will explore how these conditions create an environment where trafficking thrives. Attendees will learn how addressing root causes such as economic instability and housing insecurity can reduce the likelihood of exploitation and contribute to broader anti-trafficking efforts

Dismantling Systems that Enable Human Trafficking: In this session, we take a critical look at the larger societal structures that allow human trafficking to flourish. From the gaps in law enforcement, legal frameworks, and social services to the economic and political systems that perpetuate inequality, this presentation will explore the ways in which human trafficking is enabled and sustained. Participants will gain actionable insights into how we can dismantle these systems, advocating for policy change, stronger enforcement, and community-driven solutions that protect vulnerable populations from exploitation.
